I'm going to lovely Santa Monica in three weeks (yes!). The countdown and preparation started last night.

I can feel the sand, taste the Tecates and see the beach already.

Erin, I love you. We are the same person. That suit is so you (and me). Haha! I was going to do my normal one piece JCrew, all black vintage 1940's looking one again but thought, shit it's LA - gotta add a little sparkle into the mix.

Hey, you got my email @ Ginsberg's photos at the National Gallery right? I'm taking a trip down to see it and the Yves Klein (obvi) show when it's finally up but thought it would be nice if you came too?! A little Chocolate City, The Beats, The Boat House...think about it. It would be in June though. May is full. Show runs for a few months, opened a few days ago. Think about it.

Before I forget, July 23 is a great wknd to go to DC for the Yves Klein show @ the HH. I've been invited to a private party celebrating the exhibition from the French Embassy and Consulate in Washington - reception and dinner (in the upstairs rotunda of the HH) if you want to join me. I have a plus one and would love to have you as my date.
July 23 from 6pm - 10pm at the HH. Drinks outside on the patio and then dinner. Think about it. Just opened the invite. It's cute - very "Washington" - hand calligraphed envelope. Knew you'd appreciate that from the ol' Mount Vernon days! I miss the DC formalities sometimes.

Ugh, a Friday...I didn't realize that. Lemme see my schedule and see if I can swing that. I'll be in VA for Megan and Matt's wedding and Carrie's baby shower (when is that BTW?!) around then and will be taking Fridays off for those things so I hang @ my sister's pool and relax. Let's talk about it this weekend. I'm around.
Great news: my kitchen will be complete tomorrow! Contractor is coming @ 8am to install the water line to the fridge and the washer and dryer (don't know if I told you but my entire kitchen flooded recently bc of bad lines from the sink to the washer - nightmare. I had to replace ALL of the lower cabinets and parts of the wood floors bc they swelled).
Yeah, it was hell. I would have rather lived in a FEMA trailer than my apartment. Still don't know how I managed to handle it.
Anyway, moving forward...I'm also painting the foyer and the living room tomorrow. I picked Farrow and Ball's Pavilion Grey - GORGEOUS! All trim is BM's Decorator's White in high gloss, natch. You will die when you see it. The teeny tiny hallway is getting the most amazing vintage wallpaper too. I'll take photos.
I'll take a break from painting and fixing and call you tomorrow dear.
I just put a card in the mail for you and Dan this morning - it's cute, you'll love it. Hey, have you closed on your home yet? God, I'm so proud of you guys.
