Polvo Reunites! I was fortunate enough to catch the opening show of the Touch and Go band's mini three stop tour (additional dates have now been added) at the Black Cat in Washington, DC a few weeks ago.
The sound was exactly what you'd expect from a band that has taken some time off. Well, a decade to be exact. In true indie pioneer form, the instruments were loud and hard but the entire sound was still able to cradle itself in melodic genius.
Simply put, it was one of my personal favorites. Polvo is not just a mid 90's era college band briefly reuniting; they are a musical staple.
At times, and admittedly stated by the band, the show seemed like a sound check with an audience. Nonetheless, I was still more than happy to be a part of the litmus test.
God bless Polvo.

The Oracle says Polvo show is great place to get touched by an uncle. The Oracle has learned how to spell.

Best part was talking to the
Robocop spirit. Go robotic entity!
I snorted out my espresso when I read Mattieval Times. Oracle if you legit you would know that I have retired the Medieval Times table to the Goodwill. Someone else can enjoy its beauty from Pier 1.
Medieval times table gone already? Damn. I wish I had some cognitive memory of this allegorical concept...much like the Polvo show. Sorta missing the east right now...luckily shot in arm is coming up in July. (Nice blog, Nanook!)
