Ikat Love
Anthropologie's new Spring furniture line is featuring the most gorgeous ikat designs. The Mathilde sofa is to die for. The eight-way hand-tied seat construction, luxuriously dizzying design, kiln-dried hardwood frame AND walker finish are just too much for me to handle. Too much!
If the steep, and I mean steep, price tag at $2,698 is a big bite out of your (and my) working stiff budget...you can always buy the adorable throw pillow above for a mere $68 instead. See, you can compromise good design.

Apartment Swoooon!
Take a tour of writer Laura Santtini's bold and oh so very! lovely London flat. God, this is apartment is perfectly curated with antique finds, modern surfaces, ethnic rugs, flea market gems, fresh florals and endless dashes of charm sprinkled in every corner. I am so in love with every single thing in the place. This apartment is really tops; seriously it is quite perfect.

Interior Design Decals

This is the perfect solution for New York City apartment living: headboard decals from Blik for $40.00!! I just purchased the 'Olivia' frame in the dark grey for my home. It's light, quick, easy and no commitments are needed here. What a great design idea and solution to schlep.
Yes! to good design.

More Garage Spaces...

Speaking of garages, the NYT Home and Garden section (my favorite place to get lost) recently ran a story on artist Michelle de la Vega's garage transformation that is now her home at a mere 250 square feet. Ms. de la Vega rented her Seattle main house and renovated the garage for $32,000.
The small new living space is amazing. My favorite room is the kitchen; it is simply designed and shockingly resembles my own. I love the contrast of the utilitarian feel and the industrial sink against the woods. It's a great balance of both hard and soft materials. Enjoy the slide show...

Decals from Artist Shanna Murray

Artist Shanna Murray just launched a debut new line of the most adorable (and I mean adorable) decals.
The vinyl hand cut lettering and designs are a great peel-and-stick concept that will add much sweetness and interest to your walls or anything you want to put them on really.

Notable Interiors...

Design*Sponge features gorgeous and very livable spaces on a weekly basis. I love being able to catch a peek into these homes that often tend to be more casual and candid than the traditional photo shoots found in the pages of design magazines. My recent favorite from the site is Catherine Taret's, a franco-American writer living in Paris, home in Montmarte.
Enjoy browsing the typical Parisian interior that is filled with gorgeously curated collectibles and furniture.
Merci beaucoup Design*Sponge!

Inspiring Office Spaces...

More and more of us are finding ourselves working from home in this economy. I have found some office inspiration for those of us that aren't going to the traditional (and often dull) spaces we once were flocking to everyday.
Isn't the above office from Design*Sponge gorgeous? It belongs to the creative team at Parliament based in Portland, Oregon. Click here to view, browse and become inspired by their amazing space.
I would happily work endless hours in the Parliament offices.
